Our vision is to run Certificates and Diploma Programmes based on: medical, moral, religious and ethical values that will produce qualified and dynamic health care workers who will successfully perform primary, secondary and tertiary health care duties as enshrined in the national policy on health.
The NKST College of Health Technology, Mkar is an institution owned by the NKST Church (which is translated Universal Reformed Christian Church). It was formally established on the 13th January, 1977 by the Sudan United Mission (SUM) as Christian Medical Auxiliary Training School at Mkar. The aimed of operating the school was to reduce the suffering of church members and entire Benue indigenes to attaining middle level qualifications in thefield ofhealth most especially Community Health Assistants and Community Health Aides. The College undergoes series of changes in names and finally re-named as NKST College of Health Technology, Mkar as enshrined in the Nigeria Health Policy for the establishment of the College.

This is to inform the general public that NKST College of Health Technology, Mkar has established a Standard Dental Therapy Clinic which is one of the basic requirements for the accreditation of the course Dental Health Technicians offered by the College, recommended by Dental Therapy Registration Board of Nigeria. The Clinic is managed by qualified dentists employed by the college management. Services at the clinic are opened from 8am to 2pm from Monday to Friday weekly. Both college community and outsiders patronage is welcomed.
Pharmacy Technican Training
(A) Pharmacy Technician (Duration: 6 Semesters) Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Pharmacy Technician Training Programme must have a minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE). Other equivalents are not accepted. The credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two sittings. Successful grandaunts will be awarded a Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate which will qualify them to read Pharmacy in the University at 200level in accordance with University guidelines for their degree programme in Pharmacy.
Environmental Health Department
(A)Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health (HND)-(Duration: 4 Semesters) Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health must have a National Diploma in Environmental Health with a minimum of Lower Credit and 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
